2024 City Council Elections

The next Belvedere General Municipal Election is on November 5, 2024, when Belvedere voters will elect three members to the City Council, each for a 4-year term. Here’s what you need to know if you want to run for office.

Eligibility

You must be a registered Belvedere voter to be eligible to run for City Council.

Nomination Period

The window for filing nomination papers runs from July 15 to August 9, 2024. If one of the incumbents does not file by 5:00 PM on August 9, the filing period will extend to August 14 for all candidates other than incumbents.

If you wish to run for office, the first step is to schedule an appointment with our City Clerk on or after July 15.

Campaign Finance Disclosures

The FPPC (Fair Political Practices Commission) requires local candidates to file certain paperwork. Failure to file can result in penalties and fines. The City Clerk will provide the appropriate forms to candidates.
