How many sets of plans do I need to submit for a building permit?
The Building, Planning, and Public Works Departments all accept permit submittals digitally. This is the preferred method of project submittal. How do I schedule a building inspection?
To request an inspection, please call (415) 435-8915. As long as the inspection request is called in before midnight, an inspection may be performed the very next working day. No inspections are performed during the weekends or holidays, and no construction is permitted on those days.
When do I need an encroachment permit?
An encroachment permit is required any time work is performed in the public rights of way. This includes moving trucks, storage of debris boxes, tree work, replacing concrete sidewalks, replacing curbs and gutters, and sewer lateral repair work that encroaches into the street. My application for Design Review was deemed “incomplete.” What does that mean?
According the the City’s Planning Process all planning applications are reviewed by a City Planner to ensure that the application is complete. The review period can take as long as 30 days.
