General Property Tax Distribution: City of Belvedere
Every year, property owners in California pay a basic property tax equal to 1.0% of the assessed value of their property. This tax is collected by the county and apportioned across local agencies in accordance with the percentages negotiated following the passage of Prop 13 in 1978.
The City receives 20.7% of the basic 1.0% property tax paid by Belvedere property owners.
