About
Whatever the type of emergency, it is always best to be prepared. The following programs and information are available to help you prepare for and deal with an emergency.
Alert Marin Emergency Notification
Alert Marin Emergency Notification is a County of Marin program that provides emergency alerts via call, text, email or smartphone. Emergency officials use Alert Marin to deliver incident-specific information or potentially life-saving instructions to the specific geographic area(s) affected. Click here for more information and to register.
Belvedere Block Captains
The Belvedere Block Captain Program is a city-sponsored, resident-based community program designed to help residents prepare for an emergency. Click here for more information and to get involved.
CPR Training
CPR can help save a life if a person’s breathing or heart stops. The Red Cross offers a range of remote and in-person classes at affordable rates. You can learn more here.
Emergency Go Bags and Stay Kits
Assemble a shelter-in-place kit and an emergency go bag long before a disaster occurs, and keep them easily accessible so you are prepared for an emergency.
Evacuation Tag Program
The Evacuation Tag Program provides residents with evacuation tags to display on their home during an emergency. These tags will help emergency responders more quickly ensure that neighborhoods are evacuated during a disaster. Click here for more information and to get your evacuation tag.
Evacuation Routes
The City of Belvedere has developed an evacuation map for emergencies. Know at least two evacuation routes, as one may be unpassable in an emergency. Click here to see the evacuation map.
Family Communication Plan
Communication networks could be unreliable during a disaster, and electricity could be disrupted. Planning ahead will help ensure family members know how to reach each other and where to meet in an emergency. You can learn more here.
Know Your Flood Zones
Flooding in Belvedere may occur when heavy rainfall is combined with high tide. Storm runoff can also cause flooding to hillside homes. Preparation before a flood event can save property and lives. Visit our Flood Zone page for information on how to plan ahead.
Get Ready 94920
Get Ready 94920 is a disaster preparedness program from the Tiburon Police Department that educates residents on how to protect themselves and their families against all types of disasters. Click here for more information and to Get Ready 94920
