Climate and Environment

The Department of Climate and Environment is responsible for all climate mitigation and adaptation planning, as outlined in the City's Climate Action Plan. Responsibility for this function lies with our Planning and Public Works Departments.

In line with state goals, Belvedere is committed to reducing its carbon emissions by 80% below 1990 levels by 2050, with an interim goal of reducing emissions by at least 40% by 2030. The City is working to reduce its municipal carbon footprint and encourage community members to reduce theirs through outreach, education, and policies.
