City Council With Caption Final

With an eye to improving efficiency and effectiveness, the City Council voted to reduce the number of Planning Commissioners from the current seven to five. The rationale for the change includes a reduction in staff time per project, easing the home visit requirement for applicants, and shortening meeting duration. Because a five-person commission requires at least three members be present for voting, the Council suggested designating one or two experienced alternate commissioners who would participate if a quorum could not otherwise be constituted.

Mallard Pointe Update: The developers recently submitted demolition and infrastructure permit applications, deeds, and maps. Once fees are collected and a new cost-recovery agreement is finalized, the city will do a rigorous analysis of the submitted documents. If they are not deemed complete, the developer will be required to correct them.
