At their July 8 meeting, the City Council appointed two new members to the Parks, Open Space and Lanes Committee: Marika Bergsund and John Schirm. They will join members Nicholas Markman, Charlie Harrington and Wayne Stacy.
Also at the meeting, Public Works Director Tony Boyd reported that a recent assessment of our city streets found them to be in “good” condition, and that our planned investment and pavement maintenance projects will help keep them that way. Later this summer, various sections of Eucalyptus Road, Beach Road and Alcatraz Avenue will be repaired or replaced. And in 2025, several city streets will receive slurry seal treatments. Although these projects can be disruptive while they are underway, they are necessary to preserve and improve the quality and lifespan of Belvedere’s streets.
