Adaptation and Resilience
Climate change's most worrying effects include increasingly frequent and prolonged heat waves, wildfires, higher seas, more violent storms, and heavier rainfall.
We are vulnerable to all these impacts, but with one-third of Belvedere in a FEMA flood zone, we are particularly susceptible to flooding. The City has developed adaptation plans to reinforce and elevate the two levees that house our critical infrastructure, provide ingress and egress for the entire City, and protect the houses in the flood plain. At this stage, the project still needs to be funded. You can learn more here.
